Mark Vieno, MBA, CPA
Mark has been actively licensed as a CPA since 1993 and started Govcon Accountants to assist small and emerging government contractors to bid on and win more government contracts. Mark is a graduate of Carleton College and holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota. Mark enjoys skiing, sailboat racing, and fly fishing for wild salmon and wild brown trout in Ireland and is an avid rugby fan supporting Connacht in Galway, Ireland. Mark lives in Leesburg, Virginia and spends time in Thomas, WV (the skiing) and Galway, Ireland (the fishing and rugby). Mark is also the owner of Roxbury Hall Vineyards, a small Virginia vineyard that will eventually produce Virginia Chardonnays (it's a long process!).
Liz likens accounting to a giant puzzle with every piece needing to fit in its correct spot. Liz enjoys the challenge of tracking down an unknown and giving it a home that makes sense. Liz attended the University of Mississippi where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Accountancy. Liz enjoys spending time with her husband, and hiking the numerous trails in the Thomas, Davis, and Canaan Valley area.
For Alison the best part of accounting is numbers, because at the end of the day the numbers have to match. If they don’t, you will have something to fix. Alison graduated from Alderson-Broaddus University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. During her free time, Alison enjoys working on her farm with her animals. The question to ask Alison is: what animals don’t you have?
Lynne says she loves accounting in general and being able to create and analyze a business’s entire financial picture. Accuracy and meeting deadlines satisfies her the most. Lynne likes accounting, as it is a challenging profession, always in need. Lynne graduated college from Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a degree in Bachelor of Science, major in Accounting. Lynne likes spending time with her family. Her favorite activity is going to the gym for Zumba class.
Josh sees the underlying logic in accounting as most interesting to him. He has a Regents Bachelor of Arts in Accountingfrom Fairmont State University. In his free time, Josh enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling.
Jesse's favorite part of accounting is the ability to help clients understand their financial position and provide them with relevant economic advice so that they can devote more time to their core business competencies. He enjoys watching businesses succeed and grow due in part to sound business decisions stemming from our accounting recommendations.
Jesse graduated from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV earning a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations on Accounting and Finance. He also minored in Philosophy and Women's Studies.
While away from work, Jesse's passion in life is skiing. He also enjoys golfing, traveling, and a plethora of outdoor activities.
Sam says he likes that accounting tells the history or story of a company: both when it has done well and when it may have fallen on hard times. Sam enjoys reading that narrative. Sam has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech. Sam enjoys alpine skiing most of all.
Jen has a genuine and longstanding passion for small business accounting and she is driven by helping fellow business owners succeed. Her love for accounting can be seen in her dedication to her client’s most critical bookkeeping matters. After studying at the University of Maryland, University College, Jen earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting & Management. In her spare time, she plans trips with her busy family and maintains a rigorous fitness regimen.
Katie Bright, CPA
Katie sees the accounting process much like a puzzle, and is happiest when she leads a client to that “a-ha” moment when they finally see how all the pieces fit together. She helps her clients fully understand the accounting process so they can see the real meaning behind the numbers. Katie is a WV licensed CPA, with a BS in Accounting from Davis and Elkins College. A triathlete, she spends her free time training, with her family and completing those never-ending projects around the house.
